姑且餵養 。 早期臺灣人因為重男輕女 ， 往往會把剛出生的女嬰取名為 「 罔市 」 或 「 罔腰 」 ， 與罔飼 、 罔育諧音 ， 表示並不歡迎這個嬰兒 ， 但是既然生下來了 ， 只好姑且將她養育長大 。 但有時候是因為擔心小孩身體虛弱 ， 便故意取個相反意味的小名 ， 以保佑小孩順利成長 。
