* Open 'Google Play Store' and look for Rime TW (ie. Trime) Input Method App for installing on your Android phone. Note: not available on iphone. |
* Once installation is done, mark Allow display over other apps and Allow management of all files, otherwise Trime won't work. |
* Under Setting -> Language & Input -> On-screen Virtual Keyboard -> Manage -> Add Trime |
* Open a text application such as 'Line'. Tap input area -> bring up virtual keyboard by tapping the icon at the lower right hand side. |
* You should see a keyboard for entering 'zuoym'. If so, Trime is working. Now you are ready for copying MTL dictionary files to your phone. If not, make sure you active it under setting with Trime keyboard. |
* Turn on your PC and connect your Android with a USB cable for copying files to your phone. |
* Once connected to PC, configure your phone's Setting -> USB -> 'File transfer/Android' Auto. This allow PC access your android phone. |
* On your PC, download rime_android.zip and extract all to a folder. |
open Window Explorer -> and look for your Android phone folder under 'PC' |
* You need to copy all the files from the above unzipped rime_android.zip to this 'rime' folder on your phone. |
* Restart your phone, and proceed to bring up Line for entering text. Select Trime from keyboard icon at the bottom, you will see updated keyboard with MTL wording. You may now enter MTL such as 'si'. Tap on the displayed 'harnji' you want. |
* Due to the SW constrains, you need to replace 'ΓΈ' with 0 (which is zero). And omit entering back quote, and single quote. (e.g. kin'afjit -> kinafjit) |
* Note: A bit tricky, be sure to get Trime working with 'zuoym' first before copying MTL dictionary in rime_android.zip. |
* You may switch Trime's input schemas from MTL to other input method such as mtl2poj, or mtl2kip. This allows you enter MTL for translating to POJ or KIP which are understood by the following TTS tools:(Note: some tone sndhi may not be accurate. It is in progress.) |
